Of the 9,000 babies we deliver each year, 6-8% require specialized NICU care.
An average NICU stay is 20 days at $1,196 per day — for a whopping total of $23,920!
More than $3 million in charity care, or healthcare costs for the uninsured poor, are absorbed yearly by Ascension Saint Thomas.

Rock the Cradle proceeds benefit Middle Tennessee newborns by supporting the Beaman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and women’s OB-GYN services with cutting-edge medical equipment, specialized staff training, and financial support for uninsured or underinsured patients.

History of Rock the Cradle

In 2010, music industry veterans Connie Bradley and Troy Tomlinson launched Rock the Cradle to set the stage for raising crucial financial support for Middle Tennessee newborns in need by harnessing the star power of Nashville’s country music artists.

From its humble beginnings at the Loveless Barn, Rock the Cradle grew into a marquee event on Nashville's charitable calendar. And now, after a five-year hiatus, Rock the Cradle will once again take center stage in fall 2025 at the Pinnacle venue in Nashville Yards.

Over the years, Rock the Cradle has struck a powerful chord, raising more than $1.5 million for the neonatal care unit at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown. Thousands of newborns have benefited from the cutting-edge medical equipment, specialized staff training, and financial support for families underwritten by Rock the Cradle proceeds.

Rock the Cradle features a cocktail reception, buffet dinner, silent auction and private concert that only Nashville can offer. Wynonna Judd, Jake Owen, Old Dominion, Martina McBride and Faith Hill are a few of the headliners from past events.
